INFO:
Right back who could also play as a centre back or in front of the defence, Borg was a player with a good technique and balance, usage of both legs, fairly quick and sometimes liked to go forward and finish with a strong cross or shot inside. As a centre back, he would launch weighted passes from the deep. He was also taking penalties on a regular basis.

Starting at BK Forward, the right-back made his debut for the club in Allsvenskan on 13 April 1974, when they drew 1-1 with Djurgårdens IF . As a result, he established himself in the team and missed almost no league game of the club. At a qualifying game for the 1978 World Cup in Switzerland in October 1976, he caught the attention of those responsible at Eintracht Braunschweig with a strong performance and after months of negotiations he was signed by the German club in the summer of 1977 for a transfer fee of 800,000 Swedish crowns. Borg made his competitive debut for Lower Saxony in the DFB Cup match against Eintracht Nordhorn at the end of July and soon established himself as a regular in the Bundesliga. Even after relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1980 he remained loyal to the club and managed direct resurgence. He made headlines in the first division in 1981 when he was fouled so badly by Emanuel Günther that he had to be hospitalized with a complicated leg fracture. After a 1-3 defeat against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on the last day of the 1982/83 season, he said goodbye to 139 Bundesliga appearances and seven first division goals from German football. Borg returned to Sweden and signed with Malmö FF. In the 1986 and 1988 seasons he won the Von Rosens Cup for the Swedish champions with the club. He then ended his active career at the club.

Borg made his debut on February 28, 1976 in a 1-1 draw against the Tunisian national team in Tunis in the Swedish national jersey. With the country selection, he took part in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina and played all three preliminary round games. Until 1985 he ran for the national selection, but he failed to qualify for another tournament. During a career in the national team, which lasted 10 years, he played 50 matches in the form of the main team of the country, scoring 4 goals.

Best known in Finland for launching a cork into Jari Litmanen's eye and causing one of his many injuries.

Thanks for all the stats you've posted.
