Curiously, he initially played as a left-back and even in midfield, but it was from 1974 when he was definitively placed as a central defender, a position in which he stood out the most and which he would occupy until the end of his career. With Ferenc Szusza in the 1973-74 season is when Biosca takes an undisputed position in the Betis eleven. In that season he played in the center of the field with frequent attacks, achieving 11 goals and playing all the games in the league championship. In 1975 he made his debut with the Spanish team in its Olympic version, when the qualifying phase for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal was disputed. In those years, Biosca was a valued player who was wanted by the so-called big teams. He participated prominently in the conquest of the Copa del Rey in 1977, with 2 decisive goals in the second leg of the semifinal against Español. In 1978 he debuted with the senior team in the friendly against Mexico in Granada on April 26, and was called up for the World Championship in Argentina, playing two games against Brazil and Sweden. During his last active seasons he suffered various injuries, undergoing surgery twice. At the end of the 1982-83 season he retired from football. In his 12 seasons at Betis, Antonio Biosca played 284 League games scoring 18 goals, 55 in the Cup, in which he scored 6 goals, 2 of the Uefa Cup and 101 friendlies, in which he scored 11 goals. International with the Spanish team on 3 occasions, all of them being a Real Betis Balompié player. Spoiler: show |
