He always played selflessly, with full dedication. These qualities, plus good technical equipment, attracted the attention of major teams. In Moscow "Torpedo" he became a master of sports, played in European competitions. He was distinguished by tenacity, toughness in single combat, endurance and skillful interaction with partners. Skilled, self-confident, his strict adherence to the sports regime and a serious attitude to training allowed Zhupikov to play for a long time, until the age of 39 years.
