INFO:Reliable, selfless, tough, tenacious defender. His shortcomings were that there was not enough invention in organizing a response attack, clear balls from the flank were not always successful, his starting speed was low. He stands out for his solidity in his duels and his jumps and headers.
In juniors he was a right back defender, then front stopper. In May of 1976, Prigoda made his debut in the major leagues on the Luzhniki field. In the match against Zenit, he played the front central defender, was personally responsible for the Leningrad striker Alexander Markin, who at that time acted especially well in the attack. Sergei Prigoda became an undisputed starter, aged just 19 in the place of front central defender (however in his first years in both Torpedo and the National Team he usually played at the right back position). He played all 13 seasons in the USSR championship as part of the Moscow "Torpedo". Champion of the USSR in 1976 (autumn), winner of the USSR Cup 1985/86. He was the captain of the team from 1980-1988. Played 325 matches (one of the record holders), scored 3 goals. The first professional player from USSR to play in Sweden, at the end of 1988 he played for two seasons in Östers IF. In 1991, he moved to Västerviks FF where in 1993, he ended his career as a football player.
He made his debut in the USSR national team jersey in 1977 in a friendly match against DDR. He played in the qualification for the 1980 Euro, but USSR did not qualify to the final tournament. In 1977-1979, he played 19 matches as part of the USSR national team.
In the lists of the 33 best football players of the season five times: #1 in 1977, #2 in 1978, #3 in 1976, 1986, 1987.
