Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Defence MindedINFO:Former FK Sarajevo player. He grew up in Vitez, from where he moved to FK Sarajevo (1973-81), where he fully established himself, playing 197 games and scoring 2 goals. Even as a young player, he was distinguished by exceptional calmness and intelligent play. He played very maturely, commanding the defense. Great header and jump, combative, a power horse, sharp, but very correct football player. Red Star wanted him in their ranks, offered Sead Sušić for him and Srebrenko Repčić, but Rajković did not want to leave Koševo.
In February 1981, he joined Welsh club Swansea in a £100,000 transfer. John Toshack saw the image of the defender of the old coin. In addition to being an insurmountable obstacle for rival attackers, Rajković was also known for his overview of the game and superb control of the ball, uncharacteristically good for his height. In addition to being a good technician, he was always physically fit and fit perfectly into football on the island. He won two Welsh Cups and participated in the record elimination (12:0) of Slime Wanderers from Malta in the Cup Winners' Cup.
He played 6 games for the A national team of Yugoslavia, making his debut in Belo Horizonte vs Brazil in 1977, among 110.000 fans. He was one of the best in the field, as well as in the next match vs Argentina. The impression is that he deserved far more invitations to the best national team, and that only playing in a club that was not a member of the elite "big four" is the reason for a modest representative performance.
