INFO:Everse started playing football in the youth of XerxesDZB – the club where his father Jan Sr. played in the 1950s. At the age of 15 he moved to the youth of Feyenoord; He turned professional at the age of 18 and made his Eredivisie debut as a left back on 4 November 1973 in a 3–0 win at Kerkrade. Only two days later he made his first appearance alongside Wim Rijsbergen and Wim Jansen in the UEFA Cup competition; Feyenoord lost 0-1 at Gwardia Warsaw, but progressed and ultimately won the UEFA Cup in addition to the Dutch championship this season. In the European Cup, he played three out of four games the following season before Rotterdam was eliminated by FC Barcelona. Everse remained in Rotterdam until 1977, but was never really able to assert himself; in his four years he made 46 Eredivisie appearances with two goals.
For the 1977/78 season he moved to reigning champions Ajax Amsterdam, where he was already in the first season with 32 appearances regular player; He also played in all of Amsterdam's European Cup matches this season before Ajax were eliminated on penalties in the quarter-finals against Juventus. In the following season 1978/79 he had with 27 appearances large part in the fact that Ajax again won the Dutch championship and the KNVB Cup and thus for the fourth time the double. While Everse never scored the goal in the Ajax shirt in the championship, he scored his only goal in the European Cup on 3 October 1979: in the 8-1 home win against HJK Helsinki, he contributed the goal to the 3-0 score. In this season, due to a serious knee injury[1], he played only ten times in the championship and three times in the European Cup; At the end of the season he ended his active career as another Dutch champion.
Jan Everse's two games in the Nederlands elftal fell into his successful season, in which he played with Feyenoord as champions in the European Cup. The performances had attracted the attention of Bonds coach George Knobel, who called him into the squad for the friendly match on 30 April 1975 in Antwerp against Belgium. In the 0-1 defeat, he came on as a substitute for Frans Thijssen immediately after the Belgian goal in the 79th minute and played a good ten minutes alongside his teammates Wim Rijsbergen and Wim van Hanegem. In the following international match of the Netherlands in Frankfurt against Germany he sat only on the bench. On 30 May, he was in the starting line-up against Yugoslavia and played full time in the 0-3 defeat at the Partizan Stadium in Belgrade. With his two appearances, he remained below the number of games of his father Jan, who played three times in the national team.
