Small, stocky, marauding type of forward, who could be found equally well in the right wing, behind attack or in the offensive midfield positions. Excellent feeling for headers, with low but timely jumps, he is shrewd clairvoyant and opportunistic. In addition, he has great skill in dribbling. Master of "freezing" the ball, true Argentine technique.
Cabral made his Primera debut in 1970. In two seasons with the squid he showed scoring ability at a very young age, which led him to be summoned to the Argentine team that played the Pan American Games in 1971. From the descent of Platense, he left the institution, being acquired his pass by the Huracán of César Menotti, In the Globe he was a substitute, not being able to progress in his level, converting only 6 goals in the year. In 1973 he was hired by Rosario Central. In the Nacional, and with the arrival of Carlos Griguol to the position of coach, he reaffirmed his game and was a fundamental piece to obtain the title, including the goal that secured the championship against San Lorenzo de Almagro at the Monumental Stadium, on December 29. In 1974, with the incorporation of Mario Kempes he showed another facet in his game, that of assistant, since in addition to converting 26 goals that year he was a participant in many of the 33 goals scored by the Matador. His time at Central is summarized in numbers with 117 games played and 45 goals scored.
In mid-1975 he was transferred to Beerschot from Antwerp, Belgium. In this team he played for three seasons, playing 80 games and scoring 22 goals.4While his team ran mid-table campaigns, Cabral's good performances were appreciated by France's Lille, who brought him in 1978. He also spent three seasons there, totaling 98 games played and 29 goals. In 1981 he returned to Argentina, wearing the Independiente shirt for only four matches; had a brief stint at Atlas de Guadalajara in Mexico, and then return to Platense, his club of origin, for two seasons. In 1984 he joined French football again; this time he did it in Clermont, which played in the third division of French football. He defended this shirt for four years, being considered one of the best footballers in the history of the club. In his last season he was regional champion.
