INFO:A very fast right winger who, with his long legs, would often be running just straight like a bullet, at moments looking clumsy. However he used his willingness and a combination of high speed and quick reaction for passing his opponents, getting into chances and delivering decent crosses (which were pretty flat). He was considered the greatest talent in Breton football until he suffered a serious foot injury on 16 March 1966 during a match between the French youth team and Belgium. This put him out of action for almost a year, which is why there was already speculation about the premature end of his career.
During his Rennes years, together with Robert Rico, they developed a method of play in which they ran over the defense over the outside and then played into the back of the opposing defense to a teammate. After a surprising move to Monaco, In the 1970/71 season, he not only played strong enough to be included in the national team as a second-division player, but also led his team to promotion to the top French league. He maintained his high level of performance and contributed his best goal yield to date with ten goals in 1971/72, but this was not enough to keep the Monegasques in the league - as he was moved to the centre-forward position. As a result, he left the principality in 1972 and signed for Paris FC, which had been promoted to the first division. In doing so, Floch underlined his goal-scoring qualities already shown in the previous season, scoring 16 goals, the most in his entire career, placing him tenth in the list of top scorers. Although he was able to maintain the level in 1973/74 with 14 goals, the Parisians were also relegated due to the second weakest defensive department in the league. With a total of 30 goals in the club's jersey, Floch is the top scorer in Paris FC's top-flight history. In addition, he was able to acquire the status of a crowd favorite among the club's supporters. He then played 2 years for PSG, before his last 4 years at Brest.
He was 22 years old when he made his debut for the French national team on 7 October 1970 in a 1–0 defeat to Austria, coming on as a 78th-minute substitute. Four days later, he played his first competitive match at international level in a 3-1 win against Norway as part of the 1972 European Championship qualifiers. This was regularly followed by further considerations and he was on the pitch a total of six times for France until the summer of 1971, while at club level he played only second-rate with AS Monaco; thus, he was one of the few players who made the leap into the national team despite the second class. Even after the promotion achieved in 1971, he remained with the selection and received the confidence of coach Georges Boulogne, who had already coached him in the youth national team. However, the sporting success for the team did not materialize, both the 1972 European Championship and the 1974 World Cup were missed and therefore a new coach was brought in in the summer of 1973 with Ștefan Kovács. Under Kovács, Floch did not play any more international matches. For this reason, a 2-0 defeat against the Soviet Union on 26 May 1973 was the last of 16 games in which he played for his country.
Since the beginning of his career, he has stood out for his fast game, through which he developed great penetration on the wing. In addition, he had extraordinary dribbling skills and the ability to go it alone. As he grew older, he also appeared as a leader on the pitch, and was very keen to serve as a role model for the young players and help them in their development.
