Fantastic short, quick dribbles, acceleration. His signature move was to cut and shot or cut and cross. Emon had a type of dribble where he would shimmy the defender and go to his left, as he often used his left foot for crossing (he even took free kicks with his left). Free kick and corner kick taker, great swerve. Sometimes doubts himself, not a lot of aggressiveness, often waiting for the ball to come to him. But when he is confident, becomes one of the very best French forwards. During his Monaco years, he would drop and organize the attack in a playmaker style. Albert Emon was a very talented left winger trained at Olympique de Marseille who began his career alongside great strikers such as Roger Magnusson, Josip Skoblar and Salif Keita with whom he learned a lot by rubbing shoulders with them. After winning in the Marseille eleven with which he won the cup of France 1976, he will live a small failure on the side of Reims but will bounce back quickly to AS Monaco with which he will win a new national cup in 1980. Then he will play respectively in Lyon, Toulon and Cannes - where he finished his career. Selected for the first time in the National Team on 3 September 1975 where he started against Iceland, he played as a striker for the France team eight times and even scored a goal against Luxembourg with a brushed shot (3-0). He missed by a few the selection for the 1978 World Cup, as Hidalgo opted for other forwards. Spoiler: show |
