A creative playmaker, improviser, fake left winger and striker at the same time, he really had no defined position. Possessing South American finesse and endowed with a brilliant technique, Nogues also had an excellent balance despite his light size and header game (some diving headers too). He was very efficient too, scoring almost always around 10 goals per season, even though he didn't hit penalties and free kicks (he wasn't interested in it). He scored almost all his goals in the game, very rarely from set pieces. When he was young, he played centre-forward and scored a lot of goals. But he also loved being in touch with the ball so much that it annoyed him a little to wait for it. So, Nogues started to step back to caress it a little more. Loves the ball, sometimes could look to selfish, but also create a goal chance out of nothing. He could often been found dropping the way back in defence to pick up the ball and organize the attack. Inseparable friend of Onnis, they are happy when they are next to each other on the ground.
Starting his career in Chicarita Juniors in his home Argentina, he moved to France in 1972 and played for Lille for two seasons. then wearing the OM shirt for three seasons, from 1974 to 1977, winning the France Cup in 1976, having opened the scoring himself, before winning it again with Monaco in 1980, (plus a France league title in 1978). He was vice-champion with OM in 1975, with Saint-Étienne in 1982, played in Nice, then in several Swiss clubs, before returning to settle in Monaco.
