Name: Alain Moizan ![]() Country: ![]() Club: AS Monaco FC Position: ★DMF, CMF, CB (optional) Side: RF/BS Age: 24-27 years (18/11/1953) Height: 181 cm Weight: 79 kg Attack: 70 Defence: 79 Balance: 82 Stamina: 86 Top Speed: 78 Acceleration: 75 Response: 80 Agility: 77 Dribble Accuracy: 81 Dribble Speed: 75 Short Pass Accuracy: 84 Short Pass Speed: 76 Long Pass Accuracy: 76 Long Pass Speed: 75 Shot Accuracy: 65 Shot Power: 78 Shot Technique: 66 Free Kick Accuracy: 64 Curling: 71 Header: 75 Jump: 73 Technique: 84 Aggression: 72 Mentality: 74 Goalkeeper Skills: 50 Team Work: 85 Injury Tolerance: A Condition: 7 Weak Foot Accuracy: 5 Weak Foot Frequency: 5 Consistency: 6 Growth Type: Standard/Lasting CARDS: P02 - Anchor Man S05 - 1-Touch Play S09 - Covering SPECIAL ABILITIES: Tactical Dribble - Centre - 1-Touch Pass - Covering Attack/Defence Awareness: Balanced INFO: Moizan was a very physically strong defensive midfielder, and to his defensive game he has combined a great individual technical skill that makes him a complete midfielder. He played simple and rarely lost the ball. He gave very clean balls in a no. 6 role. He played a bit like Sergio Busquets does at Barça. Mpizan never projected himself into the opponent's 16 meters but he played with accuracy, he directed the ball to the right, to the left. Excellent tackler in defence thanks to his long legs, he recovered countless balls throughout a match. He was sliding through the centre field with his long legs, passing one opponent after another. He wasn't too fast, it seems sometimes he was just walking in the field, when in defence. A bit careless and easy-going at times, but he possessed very high short pass ability and one touch game. Voted 509th player in D1 history (from top 1000). Arriving from his native Senegal to start a professional career in football, it was in Angoulême, then in the 2nd Division that Alain Moizan made his debut between 1975 and 1977, before being spotted by AS Monaco. In a resolutely turned team towards the offensive, Moizan brings a key rebalancing as the only midfielder defensively, especially since he is technically skillful, which fits perfectly with the team's play. So much so that he will be the most used player during the 1978 title season at the end of which he will become a French international. Tireless number 6 and 8, this success expected of no one allowed him to remain 3 seasons an unstoppable holder of the team, expanding its register by effectively knowing how to play a role of central defender to relieve an aging Courbis. A position he will occupy by elsewhere at the final of the Coupe de France 1980 won against Orleans. Recruited by OL in the summer of 1980 from Monaco, Alain Moizan had an excellent first season alongside Jean Tigana and Serge Chiesa. "We were a good trio in the middle, Serge was a magnificent player, and Jean Tigana was at the beginning of his great rise," he explains. OL had a very good run, finishing in 6th place in the championship. His second season in Lyon will be less successful, with a Lyon team more in difficulty in its championship. Transferred in 1982 to ASSE which is mired in the slush fund affair, it is the inevitable descent into D2 that arrives at the end of the 1983-84 season. He packed his bags for the Isle of Beauty at SC Bastia, where he experienced a diverse fortune. He finished his career in Cannes with whom he participated in the rise in D1 of 1987. Moizan made his debut for France on 5 September 1979 in a 3–1 Euro 80 qualifying win against Sweden. He made his last international appearance on 9 September 1981 in a 2–0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Belgium. Between 1979 and 1981 he played 7 matches for the national team. Spoiler: show |
