INFO:
Le Roy was a dribbler, who took a lot of shots. He could play along the whole right side, or as an outside attacker or number 10. His first quality was his technical quality, above all. Strong in duels, physical player, not so fast or agile. On the field, he was a winner. His game was a reflection of his personality, confident and unapologetic. Overall, a really average player who compensated it with his fighting spirit.

Claude Le Roy started as a striker in the amateur team of Evreux. His performances naturally led him to join in 1968 the Red Devils of FC Rouen, cador of Division 1 which regularly competes in the cups European. For two years he completed his training as a footballer by playing a few matches in the first team. We notice this young man with blond hair, qualities Undeniable footballers but also with a strong character. A character that earned him throughout his career the reputation of a tough player. In 1970, the relegation of the Norman club in D2 following financial problems, pushes the young Claude Le Roy to leave for AC Ajaccio. Converted into a right midfielder, he will allow the Corsican club to play the leading roles during the 1970/1971 season in Division 1 (6th place). Alongside future great players such as Dominique Baratelli, Marius Trésor or François M'Pelé, Claude Le Roy became an indisputable starter and even scored 5 goals. He will play two more seasons with the Corsican club which unfortunately will end in 1973 by relegation to the Second Division. Le Roy played 95 matches with the white and red jersey and registered 12 goals.

May be a victim of his legendary bloody strokes or a lack of personal ambition, Claude Le Roy joins Avignon against all odds at the lower level. As leader, he will propel this team to the top of the ranking from the first year of his arrival (4th place) then in Division 1 in 1975 after a Epic play-off against Rouen his former club. But obviously Avignon does not have the shoulders strong enough for this adventure. The City of the Popes club will finish last with only 20 points and will return to Division 2 after only one year at the top level. Loyal to the club Claude Le Roy stays one more season at the club.

In 1977, when it seemed agreed that this proud blond warrior would end his career in clubs of D 2, Claude Le Roy interests Laval surprising promoted who has just completed his first season among the elite. Indeed, Michel le Milinaire knows that to ensure the maintenance of his team at this level, he must bring experience and maturity to his group. The winning character but also the intelligence of Claude Le Roy seduce the Mayenne sorcerer.

As a tactician, Michel le Milinaire will reposition him at the right back. For three years years it will allow Stade Lavallois to defy all predictions and remain in Division 1. He played 88 games for Tango and scored 5 goals. After his time in Laval he spent a season in Amiens in D3 before hanging up his boots in 1981.
