Very mobile and quick winger with excellent agility, great technique, famous for his short dribble and very high jump. He has technique, opportunism, flexibility, and power. Not too fast, sometimes looked like he didn't know what the outcome would be from his dribble, also seemed not very aggressive, except at times when playing defence. Trossero was a player who did not make many crosses either, more going inside or returning the ball back. He acted as a winger and 2nd center forward with Pecout.
Starting at Boca Juniors, he continued his career at Racing and Unión de Santa Fe. His best face was seen in Unión de Santa Fe. In Santa Fe de la Veracruz he was El Puma. He got tired of scoring goals: 58 in 125 games. Sure value of the championship Argentinian, Victor Trossero had landed in Europe in Nantes to succeed Eric Pécout announced leaving but who finally stayed and debuted in August 1978. He scored 10 goals in 17 games and participated in the 1979 France Cup Final won against Auxerre. He also participated in the 1980 championship course won by the Canaries. In two years, the Argentine striker still managed to win but on the right wing, also when Monaco offers him to find on the rock his position of centre-forward, he doesn't hesitate. At the end of the season Monaco signs Eric Pécout, the same one who had pushed him on the right side of the field. The Argentine was then asked to leave the club. After Monaco, he went to Montpellier where "Nito" finished the season as the club's top scorer before returning to Argentina, to Club Atlético River Plate. Following a match in Rosario, against Rosario Central, Victor Trossero died of a ruptured aneurysm in the dressing room.
For the Argentina national team, he played 3 games in 1977. Oscar was an alternative substitute center-forward for Leopoldo Luque for the 78 World Cup, until he fractured his tibia and fibula at the beginning of that year.
