He developed with undeniable hierarchy throughout the central field, managing both legs well and the different times of the match.Tall, with his head raised, due to his heavy constitution he was somewhat slow, but he knew how to move the ball long, with cerebral distribution, entering the attack with danger. He touched the ball with the precision of a surgeon. A creative flyer, ambidextrous, with good control of the tempo, good with his head, he easily joined the attack and frequently rehearsed the long pass. Little given to wearing himself out in defensive work. With his exquisite football, he was an organizing midfielder with an offensive vocation with talent and quality. In the summer of 1971 Viberti could have been a Real Madrid player, but the murder of Malaguista president Antonio Rodríguez López in circumstances that could never be clarified by the justice system thwarted the signing. As the player himself would admit years later, there was a pre-contract in the president's safe. Viberti was also an object of desire of Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid. Started in 1962 in San Lorenzo de Córdoba, already in 1963 he was hired by the Huracán, where he remained until 1969. There he would play 116 games and score 12 goals. Viberti signed for Malaga in November 1969, which obtained the promotion in the same year. He enjoyed well the next 2 seasons, being one of the best players in the league. But in the 1972-73 season, the club hired the French coach Marcel Domingo and that's where the problems for Viberti began. Both had a strong character and ended up clashing. In his 5 seasons, he played 134 games and scored 21 goals. Eventually he ended up his career in Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Belgrano. Viberti was part of the Argentine National Team that played the 1967 Copa América. He played two games, against Venezuela and Chile – Argentine victories by 5-1 and 2-0 respectively – in which he replaced Ovejero, the former Atlético de Madrid player, in the second half.

Great set, spot on! I would just remove the Classic N10 playstyle, I don't think it fits him. I believe he deserves higher DEF too.

He was something like a deep lying playmaker (Orchestrator from behind), who didn't go much up but simply due to his understanding of the game, his movement let him find himself in scoring positions. I can remove Classic #10 of course. I think he changed a bit his style of play, where in the beginning Viberti was more offensive, but then acted more from the back. I was actually considering to lower even more his speed (in the 60s range).. Regarding DEF, what would you suggest? Even though he was a DMF in later stages, I didn't see in the videos a lot of defensive movement, that's just my impression

I’d rebalance Viberti’s ATT/DEF stats to better reflect his hybrid role as a defensive #5 with playmaking DNA. While he was a deep-lying orchestrator, historical records emphasize his positional marking and leadership as core traits. Reducing Attack to 74 (from 77) still aligns with his opportunistic scoring while raising Defence to 66 (from 46) acknowledges his tactical discipline as a classic Argentine #5, who prioritized anticipation over tackles. His main position, in my opinion, was CDM and not CMF. SPA should be switched with LPA, and I agree with you regarding speed: I would personally lower Top Speed (68) and Dribble Speed (72). At least during his time at Huracán (1963-1969) he should get a MEN boost (high greens/low yellows), and more modest Shooting stats (SA 72, ST 75) keep his scoring threat realistic for a defensive midfielder. This balances his technical flair with the defensive responsibility expected of his position. I see something like this with DMF as his main position. Attack: 74 ▼3 Defence: 66 ▲20 Balance: 86 Stamina: 78 ▲2 Top Speed: 68 ▼2 Acceleration: 72 Response: 81 Agility: 68 Dribble Accuracy: 82 Dribble Speed: 72 ▼2 Short Pass Accuracy: 86 ▲1 Short Pass Speed: 77 ▲1 Long Pass Accuracy: 84 ▼2 Long Pass Speed: 75 ▼3 Shot Accuracy: 72 ▼2 Shot Power: 84 Shot Technique: 75 ▼2 Free Kick Accuracy: 77 Curling: 79 Header: 81 Jump: 76 Technique: 86 Aggression: 73 Mentality: 82 ▲12 Goalkeeper Skills: 50 Team Work: 86 I didn't change your set piece values because I didn't found any info regarding Viberti's free kicks/corner kicks on the web nor I saw Viberti hitting one in my personal collection of games. Since I can't confirm I trust your judgment on that.

Thanks again for the detailed feedback! His time in Malaga was very turbulent after Marcel Domingo's arrival, and he didn't like Viberti's defensive commitment and overall lack of tactical discipline, so that's why I've had him with much lower DEF value. Also, as I mentioned, I did notice his anticipation, however the issue was when he was up with smaller and quicker players where he didn't really engage and just stood in the same spot, so raising his DEF a lot doesn't make sense to me in this period. Perhaps his "his positional marking and leadership as core traits" relate more to his Huracan years..? Re: ATT/DEF - I agree that ATT should be lowered to 74, but perhaps due to the reasons above I could raise his DEF to 56-68 as a common ground Re: SPA/LPA - I was under impression that he launched long balls more often although I can agree that his SPA was probably slightly better Re: MEN - The reason i lowered it so much was again due to the facts from above. If you ever decide to create a Huracan set (also when Viberti was in the NT), we can merge it into 1 post as a collab. Let me know Re: SA/ST - I fully agree. I had him in the game actually with 72, probably an error while creating the set Re: FK - I remember him taking free kicks in Malaga and scoring goals. However to balance the stat set, I would lower his FKA for a couple of points Re: Position - It was 50/50 for me. Everywhere it was said he was a classic #5 (he wore #6 & #8 also in those years where the number labeled the position) and indeed he belongs more to DMF. But in his Malaga years it seemed like he was literally between AMF and DMF, where Vilanova and Migueli would all alternate between DMF & CMF (Vilanova also at AMF). Anyways, this was the trio in the midfield. I came across articles labeling him as central midfielder rather than a classic defensive #5 so that was really my doubt about the exact position. Edit: Updated
