Félix Carnero was a midfielder/fake winger who was fine with the ball, sacrificed without it. He had a very strong shot, not a lot of curve, nor shot technique - just a strong shot overall, and his movements were very quick, he could easily evade the opposing defender and either cross well or shoot as soon as he gets open. On the left side, played the role of a backward pointer, covering the support on that flank and helping in the organization. He became a "swallower" on the pitch, a tireless trotter. Although he played at the forefront of the team, he was more of a liaison midfielder.
He started in the children's teams of Apache and Amanecer, moving in the youth category to Celta de Vigo and then to Rápido de Bouzas. Later he returned to Celta, this time to the first team. He did not manage to settle in the team, so in the 68-69 season he was transferred to Club Deportivo Castellón for 100,000 pesetas. He remained at Castellón for six seasons, in which he achieved promotion to the First Division and reached a Cup final.
In 1974 he returned to Celta, but the club would not complete a good season and was relegated to the Second Division despite the fact that Félix's performance is very regular, playing 30 games and scoring two goals. In the second season, in a second season in which he is the team's top scorer with nine goals, Celta has had a great year achieving promotion. But in the following season he was relegated again and was released as a player, becoming part of the technical team.
