Rubial was a physical prodigy who had belonged to the OJE athletics team with results that spoke for themselves of his sublime faculties: he threw the javelin at 45 meters, the discus at 35 meters, and the weight ball (7 kgs.) at a distance of 10 meters. He also jumped 5.50 meters in length and 1.60 meters in height. All this globally placed him in the figures of a true "Decathlete", as they say in Olympic jargon -the perfect man-, capable of combining throws, jumps and even speed.

A very fast, agile, powerful, fighter, insistent, incisive and tireless winger. One of those outsiders stuck to the lime that hit the defense of its full-back a thousand times. He was a pure winger of the times, who served balls to Lobo Diarte a lot. Besides attacking the defender directly, Rubial would also play 1-2s and quickly go behind the defender to make a cross.
