INFO:Stuttgart's running miracle, captain, always a quiet and humble worker. Lively and dynamic. Notorious for his leadership qualities and goal scoring (especially important ones). Very tricky player, agile, with excellent technique, who could be found almost everywhere on the pitch, but especially as a goal scorer from the 2nd plan, due to his fantastic reaction. His name didn't stand for superstar and extra talent, but for reliability, honest work, and loyalty to the club.
In his first season 1973/74 at VfB he scored 17 goals and became the internal top scorer of the Swabian eleven Never has he scored more goals in a playing time. Hermann Ohlicher became captain, went through the ups and downs of the club. Hermann Ohlicher was captain of VfB Stuttgart from 1975 to 1982, then Bernd Förster replaced him.
Ohlicher began his professional career in 1973 at VfB Stuttgart as a striker and ended it as a midfield organizer in 1985, at the same club he had led as team captain from 1975 to 1982. In 1984 he became German champion with his club and in 1979 second after he had been relegated to the second division with VfB in 1975 and promoted again in 1977 and qualified for the UEFA Cup the following season.
