Attack-MindedINFO:Facundo Sava is a former Argentine footballer who played as a center-forward. Born in Ituzaingó, Buenos Aires (07/03/1974), he began his football career at Ferro Carril Oeste on October 31, 1993, in a 1-1 draw against Huracán. In 1996, he was transferred to Boca Juniors at the express request of Carlos Salvador Bilardo for a sum of 1 million dollars. However, after just one semester, in which he played only a handful of matches, he was transferred to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. He stayed with the club from La Plata for five seasons, where he stood out for his goal-scoring ability, netting 67 goals in 181 matches, and becoming the sixth top scorer in the club’s history. In 2002, Sava was sold to Fulham in England for 2 million pounds sterling. During his time with the English club, he celebrated his goals by pulling out a mask from his sock; he explained that it came from his time at Gimnasia when the fans would throw masks onto the pitch. On August 27, 2004, he was loaned to Celta de Vigo, which had lost their star striker Savo Milošević. He made his debut on September 4 as a substitute in a 1-0 home win over Gimnàstic de Tarragona. Twenty-two days later, he played the entire match and scored his first goal in his fifth game, opening a 1-1 draw against Real Murcia. In the 2005-06 season, Sava joined another Spanish second-division team, Lorca Deportiva C.D., and in May 2006, he was released by Fulham to return to Argentina, this time joining Racing Club de Avellaneda, the club he had always supported. Sava became an idol for Racing fans thanks to his commitment, goals, and leadership during a difficult time for the institution. He reached his 100th goal in Argentina’s First Division on October 6, 2007, in a 2-2 draw against Rosario Central. After the 2008 Torneo Clausura, Facundo Sava was transferred to Arsenal de Sarandí for one year, where he won the 2008 Suruga Bank Cup. In 2010, he moved to Quilmes A.C., with whom he achieved promotion to the First Division, and in July 2010, he returned to Ferro Carril Oeste, where he had debuted 17 years earlier. Shortly thereafter, on September 18, 2010, he decided to retire from professional football.
