INFO:
Luís Fernandes de Macedo Matoso, widely known as Feitiço, was a Brazilian footballer who played as a centre-forward. Born in Bexiga, São Paulo (29/09/1901), he began his career in the youth ranks of local club Jaceguai do Bexiga before joining the várzea team Ítalo Luzitano de Pinheiros. His breakthrough came at São Bento in the second division of the Campeonato Paulista, where his prolific goalscoring earned him the nickname "El Tigre da Segunda Divisão". After excelling at São Bento, including a loan to Palestra Itália for an international tour in 1925, Feitiço accepted an invitation to join Santos F.C. in 1927. He made his unofficial debut for the club on April 3, 1927, in a friendly against Palestra Itália, a match he celebrated by scoring a goal. Just eleven days later, he made his official debut at the inauguration of the Estádio de São Januário, scoring a famous headed goal against Vasco da Gama. At Santos, he formed part of the legendary "Time do Ataque dos 100 Gols" (The 100-Goal Attack Team) that dominated the 1927 Campeonato Paulista. He left an indelible mark as the club's fifth-highest all-time scorer, with 215 goals in 151 official matches. His Santos career, which lasted until 1932, included finishing as the Campeonato Paulista's top scorer multiple times, winning the award in 1929 (12 goals), 1930 (36 goals), and 1931 (38 goals). After leaving Santos, he played for several clubs, including Corinthians, Peñarol (Uruguay), and Vasco da Gama, before retiring at São Cristóvão/RJ

Feitiço represented the Brazilian national team in four official matches, scoring six goals. Although his international appearances were limited, his goal-scoring rate was remarkable. Feitiço was a constant feature in the Seleção Paulista (São Paulo State Team) during his prime, of which he is the 2nd highest goalscorer ever (after Arthur Friedenreich), with 87 goals. His tenure is famously marked by an incident on November 13, 1927. While captaining the side against the Seleção Carioca, he led a protest when a penalty was awarded to the Rio de Janeiro team, defiantly stating, "The president gives orders at the Palácio do Catete, but in the Seleção Paulista, we give the orders". This act of rebellion led to a suspension and highlighted his fiercely competitive character. His prowess for the state was built on his incredible goalscoring ability, as evidenced by his earlier top-scorer finishes in the Campeonato Paulista for São Bento in 1923 (18 goals), 1924 (14 goals), and 1925 (10 goals). On the field, Feitiço was known as a courageous, hard-working, and instinctive center-forward. He was not a player of refined technique, but he compensated with excellent positional sense and a powerful header, being particularly effective inside the penalty area.
