Attack-MindedINFO:Matías Defederico is a former Argentinian footballer who played mostly as a second striker. Born in Mataderos, Buenos Aires (23/08/1989), Defederico started his professional career at C.A. Huracán aged 18. He would be part of the team that achieved promotion to the First Division in 2007 and the memorable "Cappa's Angels" team that would come out runner-up in the 2009 Torneo Clausura, with a young Defederico as one of the many stars of that great team. In mid-2009 he signed a contract to play for Brazilian club Corinthians alongside big stars like Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos. His pass cost $4.500.000. As he did not have many minutes in Brazil, Defederico returned to his country to acquire greater continuity. Finally, on December 30, 2010, he agreed terms with his new club, of which he declared himself a fan, Club Atlético Independiente, arriving on loan for 1 year without a purchase option. After 6 months full of individual glory, despite suffering several injuries that did not allow him to add many minutes, Independiente analyzed terminating his loan 6 months before what was stipulated, if any other club requested the player's services. Colo-Colo was interested in hiring him, but the negotiations later cooled down since Defederico would be taken into account by Independiente coach Antonio Mohamed to face a semester full of international cups to play for. However, on July 11, 2012, Defederico decided to terminate his contract with Independiente and went to recover at the C.A. Huracán facilities. On November 26, 2012, he scored his first goal on his return to Huracán against Crucero del Norte. He renewed his contract with Huracán for the 2013/2014 season, where he was part of the team that was very close to achieving promotion to the First Division, after losing the tiebreaker against Independiente. In total, Matías Defederico played 84 games and scored 23 goals for C.A. Huracán.
His personal life was marked by his relationship with the model Cinthia Fernández, with whom he had three children and many extra-football controversies; After his second stage at C.A. Huracán, Defederico would become a globetrotter, playing for Al-Dhafra in the UAE, Nueva Chicago in Argentina, Eskişehirspor in Turkey, San Marcos in Chile, Mumbai City in India, Universidad Católica in Ecuador, Al-Kawkab from Saudi Arabia and Apollon Smyrnis from Greece. Finally, after a very promising career that would never take off due to his problems off the field of play, Defederico abandoned professional activity at the age of 32 playing for Agropecuario, in the Argentine second division. Defederico was part of an Argentine National Team coached by Diego Maradona based on local league players. His debut took place on May 20, 2009, against Panama, having an outstanding performance as he scored the first goal of the 3-1 victory at Colón de Santa Fe's stadium. On February 3, 2011, Sergio Batista called him up to join another local national team with a view to playing a friendly match in March of that year. It was a 4-1 victory for Argentina over Venezuela in the inaugural match of the San Juan del Bicentenario Stadium.
