Attack-MindedINFO:Luan is a Brazilian footballer who can play in all attacking positions. Born in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo (27/03/1993), after starting out in futsal and playing for amateur clubs in his native state, he joined E.C. Tanabi, where he made his professional debut in 2012. On 8 February 2013, Luan joined Catanduvense until the end of the year, for a fee of R$120,000. Shortly after making his debut for Catanduvense, Luan moved to Grêmio and returned to youth football; he later had 50% of his federative rights bought for just R$ 300,000. He was promoted to the first team in December 2013, mainly as a backup to Kléber and Hernán Barcos. He stood out with excellent performances during the 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro, for which he was awarded the Bola de Prata and selected for the Brasileirão team of the year, thanks to the 10 goals he scored in the competition playing as a false 9. For the Grêmio team from Rio Grande do Sul, he became one of the recent idols of the tricolor fans, being the main player in the conquest of the 2017 Copa Libertadores. On November 29, the attacking midfielder scored one of the goals in the Libertadores final against Lanús from Argentina. On that occasion, Grêmio won 3-1 on aggregate and secured their third South American championship. After the match, Luan was voted the best player of the competition and the best player on the continent. He left Grêmio after winning the 2016 Copa do Brasil, the 2017 Copa Libertadores, the 2018 Recopa Sudamericana, and the Gaúcho Bicampeonato between 2018 and 2019. He played 293 matches for the club and scored 77 goals. Additionally, he bid farewell to the Grêmio club as the top scorer at the Arena do Grêmio, with 41 goals scored at the Grêmio stadium. After a lackluster year in Rio Grande do Sul, where he frequently found himself on the bench, on December 14, 2019, he was announced as a new reinforcement for Corinthians for the 2020 season for a fee of $5,000,000. In 2022, Corinthians loaned him to Santos, and after very few minutes played, he was sold back to Grêmio, although once again without getting much playtime. In January 2024, Luan signed for E.C. Vitória.
