INFO:
Luis Ardente is a former Argentine footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in San Isidro, Buenos Aires (17/09/1981), he came through the youth divisions of C.A. Tigre. Ardente made his debut for the Matador in 2001 and was part of the team that won the Apertura 2004 and Clausura 2005 tournaments in Primera B Metropolitana during a historic campaign, achieving a record points tally and securing direct promotion to Primera B Nacional. He was also part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the Apertura 2007 and Apertura 2008 tournaments. In the latter tournament, he made his top-flight debut in a match where Tigre defeated Boca Juniors 1-0 in a triangular playoff to decide the champion. Ardente was instrumental in the victory, though it wasn’t enough for Tigre to claim their first championship title. In 2011, he signed with San Martín de San Juan. Initially the backup goalkeeper behind Luciano Pocrnjic, Ardente earned the starting spot due to his outstanding performances when given the opportunity, to become a key player for the team. He was crucial in securing direct promotion to Argentina's top tier in the 2014 season. By 2019, he had become the goalkeeper with the most appearances in the history of the Verdinegro. In 2020, he left the club after many years and signed with Estudiantes de Río Cuarto in 2021. On December 6, 2023, Ardente ended his professional football career while playing for Cañuelas FC. Known as a "penalty-scoring goalkeeper," he scored 14 penalty goals during his 10-year tenure at San Martín de San Juan.
