INFO:
Wilson Morelo is a Colombian footballer who plays as a striker. Born in Montería, Córdoba (27/05/1987), Wilson began his sporting career in 2006 playing for Bajo Cauca FC (now Águilas Doradas). His first season in Colombian top football came in 2007, for Envigado F.C., and in 2008 he signed for Millonarios, one of the country's bigger clubs. Morelo joined América de Cali in one of the club's lowest moments: despite his good individual performances and winning the 2008 Torneo Finalización, the team's economic issues led them to get relegated to the second division for the first time ever. In 2011 he joined Atlético Huila, a highly promising team that year, but results ultimately did not accompany them; He later played for Deportes Tolima and C.D. La Equidad. In 2014 he had his first international experience for C.F. Monterrey, in Mexico, but was quickly loaned to Independiente Santa Fe, where he would eventually become an idol. In his first season, Morelo won the 2014 Torneo Finalización and finished team's top scorer. In the following year, he reached the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals, scoring a hat-trick against Colo-Colo, and won the Copa Sudamericana, ending as the tournament's top goalscorer. After his two-year loan ended at Santa Fe, he was loaned again to Dorados Sinaloa, without any success. In 2016 he joined then-champions C.F. Pachuca and was loaned to Everton de Viña del Mar, from Chile. In 2017 he returned to Independiente Santa Fe, being this his most successful spell at the team: scoring 34 goals in 67 games and ending up as the 2018 Copa Libertadores joint top-goalscorer, with 9 goals. In January 2019 he signed for C.A. Colón, where he would reach the 2019 Copa Sudamericana final, the first international final in the team's history, and would end up winning the 2021 Copa de la Liga, the first official title ever for the club. Despite calls from Atlético Nacional and teams from Brazil, he declared that his main priority was coming back to Independiente Santa Fe: which he did in December 2021, cementing his iconic status for the Bogotá club. In 2023 he joined Águilas Doradas, his first club (back then under the name of Bajo Cauca), and since January 2024 he has played for Jaguares de Córdoba.
