INFO:
Donovan Ricketts is a Jamaican former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Montego Bay (07/06/1977), Ricketts made his official debut in 1997 for Wadadah FC and later played for Seba United, Galaxy F.C., and Village United in his native Jamaica. Ricketts attracted the attention of English clubs after an impressive performance for Jamaica against Brazil in a match played in Leicester in 2003. In 2004 he signed for Bolton Wanderers but was loaned to Bradford City after not playing any games. For the Bantams, Ricketts played over a hundred league games, all of them in League One. On December 23rd, 2008, LA Galaxy announced they had signed Ricketts for the 2009 Major League Soccer season from Village United in Jamaica. At the Galaxy, he won the Supporters' Shield in 2010 and 2011, and the Western Conference Championship in 2009 and 2011 but did not play any of the MLS Cup finals due to injuries. In 2010 he was named MLS' Best Goalkeeper of the Year. On November 28th, 2011, the Montréal Impact acquired Ricketts from the LA Galaxy in exchange for allocation money, and on August 7th, 2012, Ricketts was traded to the Portland Timbers for goalkeeper Troy Perkins. In 2013 with Ricketts in goal, the Timbers finished the regular season in first place in the Western Conference, clinching both their first-ever playoff appearance and a CONCACAF Champions League berth. That same year Ricketts was named once again as the MLS Best Goalkeeper of the Year, being the only goalkeeper of the decade to win the award on two different occasions. On December 10th, 2014, Ricketts was chosen first overall by Orlando City in the 2014 MLS Expansion Draft being forced to leave Portland. He was then traded back to the LA Galaxy the following year, and finally retired from professional activities in 2017, after one season for Tulsa Roughnecks. Throughout his whole MLS career, Ricketts recorded 548 saves in 188 games.

Donovan Ricketts is currently the ninth player with the most caps for the Jamaican National Team, having reached a century of appearances. Despite making his official debut in 1999, Ricketts had already been part of the National Team in the 1998 World Cup working as the third goalkeeper behind Aaron Lawrence and Warren Barrett. Ricketts represented Jamaica in all eight of their 2010 World Cup qualifying matches, where they were eliminated in the third round stage, and won two official titles for the Reggae Boyz, as Jamaica won the 2005 and 2008 Caribbean Cups.
