Defence-MindedINFO:Jeremías Ledesma is an Argentine footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Born in Pergamino, Buenos Aires (02/13/1993), he began his professional career in 2013 with C.A. Rosario Central, although he frequently alternated between the reserve team and the first team's bench. He made his debut in 2017 in a 1-0 victory against Cañuelas F.C. of the fourth division in the Copa Argentina. He managed to establish himself as a starter in the First Division around 2018. During this period, he was crucial in winning the Copa Argentina, where he captained his team and was named the tournament's best player. Of the six phases Central played, four were decided by penalty shootouts, and Ledesma saved at least one penalty in each of them. On August 25, 2020, he was loaned to Cádiz C.F. for €500,000 with an option to buy for one season. He had to wait until the fourth matchday to start playing as he had contracted COVID-19. On May 9, 2021, after the team secured their place in the First Division and Ledesma played most of the matches as a starter that season, the Cádiz club acquired him after meeting the objectives set in the loan agreement for a sum close to €1,500,000. At the yellow team, he became one of the best goalkeepers in the club's history, playing almost 140 matches in what would be one of the most successful periods in the club's history, staying 4 years in the First Division and achieving their best historical position in the La Liga table for the 2020/21 season. Starting in July 2024, after long negotiations, River Plate reached an agreement with Cádiz to pay $2,600,000 for 100% of Ledesma's registration rights plus another $500,000 in objectives.
