Born in El Carmen, Ica (02/03/1990), he began his football career on February 21, 2009, making his debut in the Campeonato Descentralizado for Juan Aurich in a 2-1 victory over Inti Gas. His good performance on the team led to him being signed by Sporting Cristal at the beginning of 2010. After two and a half seasons at the club, he joined Tavriya Simferopol in the Ukrainian Premier League, although after only a month, he returned to Sporting Cristal, as the Ukrainian club did not have enough quotas for another foreigner. On January 5, 2013, Advíncula signed for TSG Hoffenheim of the German Bundesliga, making his official debut on the 26th of the same month in a 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt. Advíncula would play little in Germany, ending up on loan in 2013 to Ponte Preta of Brazil, where he would be runner-up in the Copa Sudamericana that year, a return to Sporting Cristal at the beginning of 2014, and a new loan to Vitória Setúbal of the Primeira Liga of Portugal in mid-2014. On August 1, 2015, he signed for Bursaspor, in Turkey, who after half a year in their ranks would loan him to Newell's Old Boys of the Argentine League. At the beginning of 2017, he went to Mexico, to play for Tigres UANL, who after only 9 games would loan him to Lobos BUAP, where he would play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. After his good performance in the intercontinental tournament, and with offers from Russia, Turkey, and Spain, Advíncula joined Rayo Vallecano. As the last step so far in his career, on June 10, 2021, it was confirmed his arrival at the Argentine giant Boca Juniors. He made his debut on August 4th in the Superclásico against River Plate for the round of 16 of the Copa Argentina, tournament which he would ultimately win. Playing for the blue-and-gold club, Advíncula would be nominated in 2021 for the best right-back in South America, in 2022 he would win the Copa de la Liga, the Primera División and the Supercopa Argentina, and in 2023, in addition to reaching the final of the Copa Libertadores, being one of the top scorers of his team with 4 goals, he would be part of the Ideal Team of America, and he would be awarded as the best right-back on the continent. With the Peruvian National Team, he has participated in 3 editions of the Copa América: Argentina 2011, Chile 2015, achieving the bronze medal in both, and Brasil 2019, where Peru achieved the silver medal. He is also the third player with the most appearances, with 122, and the tenth top assist provider in the history of the National Team. He made his debut with the senior team on September 4, 2010, in a friendly match against Canada. He was called up by coach Sergio Markarián to compete in the 2011 Copa América in Argentina, where Peru finished in third place. The new coach of the Peruvian team, Ricardo Gareca, called him up for the 2015 Copa América held in Chile. Peru finished in 2nd place in Group C, which they shared with the teams of Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela, where he played as a right-back and had a good performance. In the quarter-finals, he faced the Bolivian team, defeating them 3-1, thus qualifying for the semifinals. In the semifinals, Peru was eliminated by Chile, losing 2-1. For third place, Peru defeated Paraguay 2-0. He was the starting right-back for Peru in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He played all 3 of Peru's matches in the World Cup, being eliminated in the Group Stage. He was a very important part of the team's historic presentation in the 2019 Copa América, in which they reached the finals, losing against Brazil. After a study carried out by FIFA in 2018, Advíncula was listed as the fastest footballer in the world with an average speed of 36.3 km/h, ahead of Gareth Bale. In 2019 he was the fourth fastest player with an average speed of 36.15 km/h. Spoiler: show |

When I saw that post, I was surprised in two ways: First of all I was like "Wait a minute, he's still playing?" but then I was even more surprised that he's "only" 34 years old ![]() Sounds odd for the South American users probably but he has been around for that long in Peruvian NT + his Hoffenheim stint seems to be sooo long ago that I actually thought that Advincula would be close to his 40s already. Btw, any chance for a Rayo Vallecano set (probably he should be added into their AS team as well)? |

I’m surprised it took him so long to become a regular player at club level. Every time I watched Peru over the years he was a monster on the right side. |

Advíncula has been pretty consistent since he joined Boca, I'm tempted to say that he's in the best form of his career (after 2017-2018) though that's not saying much since he never settled in any team for more than three years. I don't think I can make a Rayo Vallecano set, but it wouldn't be much different than this one, just a massive speed upgrade (93/94 TS & 90+ ACC) maybe one or two more points on ATT, DEF, and STA, and less MEN, LPA/SPA and TW. He is already in their AS team as a reserve but I don't think he deserves to be upgraded to the first team over Duarte. |

I still remember that Partizan was interested in signing him in 2011...and in a few transfer windows later ![]() |
