Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Balanced John William Hollins (born 16 July 1946) was a midfielder who was part of the successful Chelsea side of the early 1970s, winning the FA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in consecutive seasons. Hollins was remarkably consistent and led by example, regularly transforming defence into attack with well-timed tackles, clever positioning and outstanding vision. He was voted the club's Player of the Year in 1970 and 1971. Hollins was a superb distributor of the ball, covered vast areas of ground and weighed in with his fair share of goals. In total he made 592 appearances for Chelsea, behind only Ron Harris and Peter Bonetti, and set a club of record of 167 consecutive appearances.
