Edward Vizard (7 June 1889 – 25 December 1973) joined Bolton Wanderers in September 1910. From here, he never looked back making the outside left position his own for the next 18 seasons. In total, he made 512 appearances for the Trotters scoring 70 goals. Described as “one of the most consummate artists in football” and “one of the daintiest and craftiest outside lefts in the country”, during his time at Bolton, he appeared in the 1923, 1926 and 1929 FA Cup Finals, all three victoriously. Vizard also won 22 international caps for Wales between 1911 and 1926, scoring once.

Jimmy Ruffell wrote:
Ted Vizard was very talented. He was a bit like George Best, although he made goals rather than scored them. He was very tricky. He could move from a walk into a sprint like lightning.

EDWARD T. VIZARD (outside left), another Welsh International, was with Cogan Old Boys, his native club, when Bolton Wanderers invited hime to play a month on trial. They signed him after his first game. A subtle dribbler, who loves to get defences in to a tangle. Height 5ft 9.5 in., weight 11 stone 6 lb.
