Born in Long An in 1982, he spent the majority of his club career with Gạch Đồng Tâm Long An, helping them win the V.League 1 title in 2005 and 2006. He earned over 50 caps for the Vietnamese national team, serving as a key figure during the country’s golden period. Tài Em’s crowning achievement came in 2008 when he captained Vietnam to their historic AFF Championship victory — the country’s first regional title after reaching the Quarter Final of Asian Cup in 2007. Tài Em was a central midfielder known for his stamina, and disciplined play. He wasn’t a flashy technician or goal-scorer but rather a quiet orchestrator who controlled the tempo of matches through smart passing and positional awareness. He excelled in short combinations and was often the link between defense and attack, showing great spatial understanding and decision-making under pressure. Tài Em used both feet equally well when passing or shooting. Despite his small stature, he was quite effient in the air. Spoiler: show |
