In the Czechoslovak League, he played in 1955–1956 and 1959–1965 for Slovan Bratislava, with whom he won the 1955 title, scoring 65 goals in two hundred matches. Between 1956 and 1958, he did his military service at ČH Bratislava (he participated in their title win in the 1958–59 season, but left before the end of the league season), and between 1965 and 1967 he played for their successor club, Inter Bratislava.
