He began his soccer career in Resovia. During the 1938 World Cup he was only a reserve player and did not play any matches. He made his debut for the Polish national team on August 27, 1939 in the match against Hungary (4:2), which took place in Warsaw . It was the last match of the Polish national team before the outbreak of World War II. He played his last match for the national team in Warsaw on June 4, 1950 , during the match against Hungary (2:5). During his career he played 9 matches for the Polish national team (played 617 minutes).

After the end of his competitive career, in the 1960s he became a coach of the Łódź Sports Club.

- Stanisław Baran (right winger of ŁKS Łódź). The rest of the players made their national team debut, although some had played for league teams before the war (among them Walter Brom, Mieczysław Gracz, Stanisław Kaźmierczak, Michał Filek).

- He was considered one of the most talented players of his generation, but with the outbreak of World War II he stopped his career for 5 years. From 1945 to 1946 he defended the colors of Baltija (Gdansk) .

- Among the young leaders of the raid, Baran deserves the first place. He has good control of the ball and body movements, he is energetic, ambitious and courageous. It is even strange that he does not fall into the usual provincial behavior, does not hold the ball unnecessarily and does not indulge in dribbling.

- In the ŁKS Łódź (1946-1958) in 178 matches he scored 70 goals.
