He started in the youth team of Sport Boys where he arrived together with his brother “Campolo” Alcalde, Raúl Chappell, Segundo Castillo, Carlos Portal, Víctor Marchena, among other players. With this team he played as right back, winning the titles of 1935 and 1937. Later he played for Alianza Lima, Universitario and Jorge Chávez del Callao, ending his career as a central defender.
He has been international with the Peruvian national soccer team in 9 matches. He made his debut with the national team on August 6, 1936 against Finland in the Olympic Games held that year in Berlin. In 1938 he was part of the Peruvian team that won the gold medal at the Bolivarian Games in Bogota. Then he was champion of the 1939 South American Championship where he was a starter in all the matches, being his last appearance with the national team in the final match in which they beat Uruguay 2-1.
