Isaksen was one of the players on the famous Bronze Team and became the great hero when Norway beat Germany at the Berlin Olympics. Isaksen scored both of Norway's goals in that match. He also played in the 1938 World Cup. He earned 14 caps for the senior team, scoring five goals.
He became Norwegian champion with Lyn in 1945, after, among other things, eliminating his parent club, Kristiansund FK, in the quarterfinals.
