He was born in Piraeus. He began his career with AEF Neapoli Piraeus and then moved to Ethnikos Piraeus, where he played from 1933 to 1936. In August 1936, he left Greece for Romania, becoming the first international signing of a Greek footballer. He played for Venus Bucharest, which donated 1,000,000 drachmas, a huge sum for the time, and had a great career in their jersey, winning three Romanian championships during the interwar period. He played football until 1950 for various Romanian teams.
He is considered, in both Greece and Romania, one of the best strikers of the 1930s.
