Rubens Salles was considered the first idol of Brazilian football in the first half of the 1910s, later surpassed by Arthur Friedenreich. “His name, as a footballer, became very popular, and certain moves from the sport became associated with him,” wrote the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.

At first, he wasn't very good at playing football, but he persisted and eventually made his mark on Brazilian football as a center-back. He made his debut with Paulistano in 1906, after playing in the youth teams from 1902 to 1904. In 1907, he was a starter for Paulistano and won the championship in 1908.

In 1914, he was in the first Brazilian national team, formed to face Exeter City, and scored the team's first goal in official matches, in a 1–0 victory over Argentina in the 1914 Copa Roca, also Brazil's first victory outside the country. His first experience as a coach was in these matches, alongside Sylvio Lagreca on a commission.

Sua estreia no Paulistano foi em 1906, depois de passar pelas equipes infantis, de 1902 a 1904. Em 1907 era titular do Paulistano, e em 1908 foi campeão. Foi artilheiro do Campeonato Paulista de 1910, jogando pelo Paulistano com 10 gols.

Sua especialidade eram os passes em profundidade, com os quais surpreendia seus adversários, o que o levou a Seleção Brasileira que enfrentou o Exeter City, e no mesmo ano, também levou a Seleção a conseguir a primeira vitória fora do país, vencendo a Argentina, em Buenos Aires, com um gol seu.

- Jogador talentoso logo foi aproveitado no time profissional fazendo sua estreia aos 15 anos de idade em 1906 tendo como característica o passe de qualidade sendo um bom articulador. Mesmo não sendo atacante construiu um feito histórico na época se tornando em 1910 o artilheiro do campeonato paulista com 10 gols, foi campeão pelo Paulista nos anos de 1908, 1913, 1916, 1917, 1918, e 1919 e vice-campeão nos anos de 1907, 1909, 1912, 1914 e 1920 tornando o time na época imbatível, temido e o único time consecutivamente tetracampeão paulista.

- A trajetória de sucesso logo trouxe a Rubens, em 1914, a convocação para a primeira Seleção Brasileira. Na ocasião o são-manuelense recebeu a tarja de capitão do time. Naquela época, o comando técnico da equipe era designado ao capitão, sendo assim, Rubens Salles, além de ser o primeiro técnico da história, foi também o primeiro capitão da Seleção Brasileira de Futebol.

Sua especialidade eram os passes em profundidade, com os quais surpreendia seus adversários, esse foi um dos motivos que o levou a Seleção Brasileira que enfrentou o Exeter City da Inglaterra.No mesmo ano, Rubens conduziu a Seleção a conseguir a sua primeira vitória em uma competição oficial, vencendo a Argentina, em Buenos Aires, com um gol seu, conquistando assim o título da Copa Roca.

- O volante começou sua trajetória em 1906, pelo Paulistano, onde efetuou toda sua carreira, até 1921. Conhecido pela boa saída de bola e passes precisos, foi artilheiro do Campeonato Paulista de 1910.

- That victory came in Buenos Aires on 27 September, two months after the debut outing against Exeter, with Salles’ looping 13th-minute strike from outside the box catching goalkeeper Juan Jose Rithner unawares. Not without good reason, his team-mates dubbed him Patada Atômica (“The Atomic Kick”), the very same nickname that would be bestowed many years later on another iconic figure of the Brazilian game: Roberto Rivelino, a FIFA World Cup™ winner in 1970.

Taking up the story in its obituary of Salles, O Estado de S.Paulo wrote: “The head of the British delegation was so excited about Rubens that he made him a very attractive offer to play for a professional team back in his country.” Though flattered by the proposal, Salles, who was 20 at the time, promptly turned it down. There were many occasions on which Rubens Salles, in those fleeting hours of triumph, demanded that no mention be made of his name, so that the rest of the gang should receive the same measure of applause and praise.”

You're right, looking closely at what I quoted it doesn't make much sense, although the fact that he has that nickname "The Atomic Kick" leads me to believe that his through balls along the ground were powerful, he has decent ball control for passing and of course he's capable of long-range shots. Anyway, I don't know if his SPS should be yellow and I know many will tell me that the ball is heavy and things like that, there are shots where they show how old players make powerful passes with that heavy ball, especially during counter-attacks.
