Luuk de Jong is a Dutch striker known for his impressive presence in the box, excellent aerial ability and goal-scoring instinct, who has built a solid and successful career both in Dutch football and in European competitions, both for clubs and National Team.

At the beginning of his career at De Graafschap and then FC Twente, Luuk de Jong stood out as a promising center forward, still in the process of physical development, but already with good reading of the game, intelligent movement and a great eye for goal. Despite being tall, he was more agile and mobile than he would become in later years, appearing well outside the area, making diagonal runs and offering good association with the midfielders. His aerial game was already strong, but he also demonstrated good technique controling the ball and finishing with bot feet. He was a more participative striker, with a good presence in the offensive moves and a great instinct for positioning within the area.

Over time, especially during his more mature spells at PSV, Sevilla and Barcelona, ​​Luuk de Jong established himself as a reference centre-forward: more static, dominant in high balls and decisive in aerial and pivotal plays. At PSV, he was a cold and lethal goalscorer, using his physical strength to gain space, protect the ball and finish with power and precision. He became the team's capitain and referential leader, being the typical "target-man", essential in teams that relied on crosses and long balls.

In Spain, especially at Sevilla, he showed himself to be a player of the big moments — even though he wasn't an undisputed starter, he was vital in the Europa League title campaign in 2020, scoring in the semi-finals and finals. At Barcelona, ​​already a veteran, he made up for his technical limitations with great commitment, but he never got much affection from the fans. Thus, Luuk evolved from a technical and promising striker to an experienced, lethal and tactically disciplined center forward, who always delivered what the coaches expected of him.
