Quincy Promes is a former Dutch left winger and attacking midfielder known for his physical explosiveness, one-on-one ability and goal-scoring instinct, who rose to prominence at FC Twente and cemented his career with great performances for clubs such as Spartak Moscow and Ajax, as well as being a constant presence in the Dutch national team for much of the 2010s.

A product of Twente's youth system after a difficult start in youth football, Promes overcame personal obstacles and quickly became a standout in the first team due to his aggressive style, intense movement and ability to both finish and set up teammates. His rise at Twente led him to Spartak Moscow, where he enjoyed his peak: he was the top scorer, a fan favorite and was voted the best player in the Russian Championship in 2017, playing a key role in winning the national title that year — the club's first in over 15 years.

After a brief spell at Sevilla, he returned to Dutch football to play for Ajax, where he maintained his high level, forming a fast and technical attack alongside names such as Hakim Ziyech and Dušan Tadić. At Ajax, he demonstrated tactical maturity, good positioning and decision-making ability, being one of the team's main names in European and domestic competitions.

For the Dutch national team, Promes has been called up dozens of times, forming a good attacking partnership with Memphis Depay, playing under different coaches and being used both as a starter and as an attacking weapon coming off the bench, scoring important goals in the Qualifiers, Nations League and friendlies. However, his career had to be ended after several criminal charges, involving drug trafficking, attempted murder and aggravated assault; with him being arrested in 2024.
