Jeroen Heubach was a Dutch left-back with a fighting spirit and a strong connection with FC Twente, the club where he spent practically his entire career and became a cult figure among the fans. Born in the Enschede region, he was seen as a "root Tukker", a player who represented the soul of the club on the field — not so much for his technical refinement, but for his dedication, loyalty and constant willingness to fight.

He began his professional career at Twente in the mid-90s, with a brief stint at MVV Maastricht and N.E.C. Nijmegen, but it was at Twente that he built his football identity. Playing as a defensive full-back, Heubach stood out for his combative style, firm tackles and physical stamina, even if he limited his runs to attack. He was the typical player who made up for any technical deficiencies with determination, consistency and tactical commitment.

During his long stint at the club, he played almost 300 official games, being an important part of the squad in different phases of FC Twente — from the instability of the 1990s to the beginning of the rebuilding era that would lead the club to the national title in 2010, after his retirement. He was not captain often, but he was a vocal and motivating presence in the dressing room, as well as an informal idol for the fans for representing regional pride and the simplicity of working-class football.
