Abdul Nafee Hamwieh is considered one of the most prominent Syrian defenders, distinguished by his defensive solidity and his ability to read attackers, especially in one-on-one situations. Hamwieh participated in the 1984 AFC Asian Cup as a starting player. His best club career was with Al-Karamah, where he won the Syrian League title.

Note: Many websites state that he played as a right-back, but from what I've seen, he played as a left-sided center-back. There might be some confusion between him and his teammate Raghed Khalil due to their similarity. Also, Abdul Nafee Hamwieh is always left-footed.
