Ibrahim Hassan is considered one of the most prominent right-backs in the history of Egyptian football, having built a illustrious career spanning more than two decades with both clubs and the national team, combining defensive solidity with an impactful attacking presence. He began his journey with Al Ahly, contributing to numerous domestic and continental championships before embarking on a European professional career with PAOK in Greece and Neuchâtel Xamax in Switzerland, later returning to continue his successes in Egypt with both Al Ahly and Zamalek. Known for his dynamic style of play, he was a tireless full-back who fiercely supported the defense and constantly joined the attack through his rapid overlapping runs and precise crosses. He was distinguished by his ability to read the game, sound positioning, and strong tackling, alongside a leadership personality that provided the defensive line with a great deal of organization and stability. He also possessed exceptional physical fitness that enabled him to maintain the same tempo throughout the match, earning him the nickname of an unstoppable motor. His contributions were not limited to defensive duties; he also scored goals and created many chances, capitalizing on set pieces and his intelligent attacking movements. On the international stage, he was a cornerstone of the Egyptian national team and participated in the 1990 World Cup. However, his career suffered a major setback in 1997 when he was banned for an entire year for making inappropriate gestures toward the referee during an Egypt vs. Morocco match in the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which deprived him of participating in the tournament that Egypt ultimately won.
