INFO:Ian Pearce is a former centre back. His career began in 1991 at Chelsea. In 1993 he joined Blackburn Rovers, forming a superb couple of centre backs alongside Colin Hendry and winning the 1994-95 Premier League as regular starter. He played less during the following three seasons and left the team after 81 matches. He transferred to West Ham United, where he stayed for seven seasons, winning the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup and playing 163 games. He played for several other clubs including Fulham and Southampton. He retired in 2012.
Tall and strong, Pearce was a tough defender to challenge thanks to his imposing size. Moreover he had a very good heading ability. He was a bit slow, especially on long distances, and sometimes quite aggressive towards his opponents. He didn't dislike occasionally joining the attack even though he didn't score many goals. He didn't possess remarkable technique but he could deliver accurate and fast passes from the back to trigger the attack.
