INFO:Warhurst could cover most field zones. His main position was central midfielder but could play as centre back, centre forward and occasionally side midfielder or side back. His career began in 1988 at Oldham Athletic, where he played for three seasons. He then played two seasons at Sheffield Wednesday, appearing 88 times and scoring 18 goals because he mainly played as centre forward. He then transferred to Blackburn Rovers in 1993, winning the 1994-95 Premier League, playing 73 matches and scoring 4 goals. Due to some injuries, he missed many games and was sold to Crystal Palace in 1997. He played also for Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City, Blackpool and several minor clubs. He retired in 2008.
Warhurst was a good player, who participated in both defence and attack. Right-footed but accurate with the left as well, he was a very good passer of the ball, possessed decent heading ability and was gifted with fine technique thanks to which he was able to push forward with the ball when he acted as centre back. On the other hand, he wasn't very fast and didn't have a very accurate shot despite having scored 18 goals in one single season.
