INFO:Marker is a former centre back. During the 1980s, he played in minor leagues for Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle, appearing around 200 times for both clubs. He joined Blackburn Rovers in 1992 but he was never a regular starter. He was mostly the reserve of Hendry and Berg as centre back but played also as right back and occasionally as defensive midfielder instead of Batty. He won the 1994-95 Premier League even though he wasn't featured in any match. He appeared in 73 games throughout five seasons before transferring to Sheffield United, where he stayed for two seasons. He retired in 2000.
A decent defender, Marker possessed strength, good heading ability and could deliver nice long passes from the back. He didn't dislike pushing forward when he was acting on the flank. He was though quite slow, not very consistent nor always effective.
