Attack / Defence Awareness Card: BalancedINFOS:Roar Strand is one of the biggest legends of Rosenborg BK and a player with most club appearances ever. He spent almost his whole 21 year long career with Rosenborg (except one season at Molde) where he was one of key players throughout all those years. During his peak at the club, coach Eggen mostly used 4-3-3 formation, and Strand's position was central midfielder on the right side. He was also able to play as side midfielder and also as a right back as needed. He was an excellent tireless midfielder, who covered a lot of ground, helped defenders regularly and was always prepared to get into attacking actions. His signature move was to run forward from the midfield and get a deep ball behind opposition defenders and get into position to score. He repeated his runs regularly all game long, never bothered if a pass was inaccurate or if he missed an opportunity. He never gave up on the pitch. Also, he could position himself very well and wait for the return ball to shot at goal. He was better at passing the ball on long distances than on short, which resulted with more assists from long balls and crosses. He was a fast player with or without the ball in his feet. During Rosenborg great adventures in Champions League during 90's, he played at constantly high level. He scored over hundred goals for the club, and some of them in Champions League were very important. He played in 42 games for Norway, being part of the squad at 1994 and 1998 World Cups and at 2000 European Championship.
