He mainly played as wing back on both sides. He was a good passer and crosser and known for setting up plenty of goals, although he also had a pretty decent scoring record himself. He wasn't a particularly fast or technical player so he had some difficulties getting forward to make use of his crossing ability but when he had space he usually played some dangerous low crosses into the box. On the other hand he didn't have much defensive ability and often didn't even bother dropping back to defend, or to close down opposition wingers and prevent them crossing. Despite his success in Danish football he never received a cap for the national team.
