Eoin Jess is a legendary Aberdeen player, he was a very talented youngster that never fulfilled his full potential but was Aberdeen's leading player throughout the 90s. He had two distinct spells at Aberdeen separated by one and a half seasons at Coventry; in the first spell he played as a forward and in the second spell he played as an attacking midfielder. In his younger days Jess was an electric player with great acceleration and trickery, he excelled at picking the ball up in deep positions and gliding forward while beating players with his dribbling skills. Not the most prolific forward but he had good shooting ability, he was more known as a scorer of great goals rather than a great goalscorer. He also had a decent leap and often took corners and free kicks. Jess was the most effective Aberdeen forward when they finished runners up 3 times in 4 years from 1990-1994, and also played in several cup finals for the club. He was especially known for his performances in big games against Rangers and Celtic. In total, Jess played 380 games and scored 94 goals for Aberdeen and scored 2 goals in 18 games for Scotland, playing in the game against England at Euro 96.
