INFO:

Probably the most tactically gifted Saudi player and one of their most technically gifted too. Fahad Al-Bishi was a one club man for Al-Nassr and the main playmaker of the legendary Saudi team that reached the 2nd round of the World Cup in 1994. While that team was known for it's somewhat chaotic style of play with lightning quick counter attacks and disorganised but tenacious defending, Al-Bishi was a midfielder of exceptional composure and took excellent care of the ball every time he touched it. Even against the elite midfielders of the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden he expertly escaped pressure and consistently released the ball with perfect timing, rarely looking hurried or anxious. Other Saudi players like Al-Owairan, Al-Thunayan, Al-Muwallid and Al-Temyat could change a game in a moment but none of them had the influence that Al-Bishi had over the 90 minutes. Even despite being a creative midfielder he didn't neglect his defensive duties, although he wasn't too effective in ball winning. He was even a good goalscorer, especially from set pieces, scoring about every 3 games over his career. In fact, he scored the first goal in the history of the Confederations Cup and also the 2nd goal in the history of the Club World Cup. He had some controversies over his career which led him to win a lot less caps than his teammates and he spent some years in exile from both the national team and Al-Nassr, but that couldn't stop him from becoming one of the most well respected legends in not just Saudi football but also Asian football.
