INFO:

Khaled Al-Muwallid, known as Khaled Massad in his home country, was a Saudi midfielder who was a regular part of the national team during its golden age in the early 90s. He was a classic example of a Saudi midfielder: technically gifted, unpredictable and capable of the spectacular but lacking in physical skills and mentality. Playing mostly as a left sided midfielder, Al-Muwallid wasn't a classic winger that liked to beat his man and cross the ball but rather a player who liked to come into the middle of the pitch and create attacks from deeper positions. His trademark move was the long pass with the outside of his boot, which he used often and consistently. He could dribble past players in very tight spaces but was less effective when he had space in front of him, although he wasn't really a slow player he was quite static with and without the ball and much preferred to launch the ball from where he was standing. His left foot was excellent and he had a powerful shot with which he had a very good scoring record for club and country. Al-Muwallid's elegant style of play ensured he was one of his country's stars during the whole decade of the 90s and he played in two World Cups, finishing his international career with an excellent 28 goals in 114 games.
