INFO:

Khaled Al-Temawi was a Saudi midfielder and one of the leading midfielders in the country in the 90s. He had a good mix of technique, physique and heart. With the national team he played as a right sided midfielder but his regular position with Al-Hilal was in the middle as a dynamic, all-action midfielder. He was a hard working player that covered a lot of ground and was tenacious in both attack and defence. He wasn't as skillful as some of the other Saudi midfielders but he had solid speed and could drive long distances with the ball at his feet. He also wasn't as good at passing as some of his teammates in midfield but he could deliver some nice crosses, especially from set pieces. He was also a good penalty taker. Most importantly, he was a constant presence in midfield that always played with heart and intensity. Although he's one of Al-Hilal's great legends, he had a strange international career. He was a regular in the team throughout the 90s, winning 68 caps, and was an important player in the 1996 Asian Cup winning team. However, for unknown reasons he was left out of the squad for both the 94 and 98 World Cups despite the fact he was at his peak at the time. If he played in those tournaments he'd probably have a much bigger reputation outside of his country.
