INFO:
Ravanelli is a former centre forward who could also play as secondary striker. His career started in 1986 at Perugia. He then played for Avellino and Casertana in 1989-90, Reggiana between 1990 and 1992. He eventually had his best time at Juventus where he played from 1992 to 1996, scoring 68 goals in 160 matches. He was crucial in the 1995-96 Champions League final where he scored Juventus' only goal in the 1-1 draw against Ajax as the Bianconeri then won at the shootout. Ravanelli also had an excellent 1996-97 season in England with Middlesbrough as he scored 31 times in 48 appearances. His following teams were Olympique de Marseille, Lazio, Derby County, Dundee FC and Perugia. He retired in 2005. He capped for Italy 22 times, scoring 8 goals.
One of the best Italian strikers in the second half of the 1990s, Ravanelli was excellent both inside and outside the box. He was fast over long distances but less over shorter ones. He wasn't particularly gifted from a technical standpoint as he wasn't the kind of striker who looks for the dribbling. Nonetheless, he was excellent at making the defenders believe that he was going for the dribbling only to make a step movement to the side instead before usually attempting the shot. He was helpful in setting the attack at time thanks to his ability to protect the ball around or on the edge of the area, showing great physical power and decent passing ability. He could play extremely well on the lines and off the shoulder of the defenders, taking advantage of any mistakes made by his opponents and showing fantastic instinct inside the box. He could score by placing the ball accurately or by delivering a thunderous shot out of nowhere, aiming the goal even from difficult positions. He was also a good set piece taker, especially from penalty, and an excellent header. He was left-footed and didn't use the right too often, although he was quite accurate with both feet. In addition, other than acting outside the opposition's box, Ravanelli used to fall back a lot to help during the defensive phase, proving to have great mentality.

Interesting. And when will he arrive at Marseille? Do you think there are many variations in statistics?

I don't know. I can say that his scoring rate was way lower during his time at Marseille than it was at Juventus and Middlesbrough. Had he been still at Juventus in 1998 and performing at high levels, he would've likely be called up for the World Cup. Instead, that wasn't the case.
